What should be noted when using a valve ball?

1. Before use, clean the pipeline and valve body with water to prevent residual iron filings and other debris from entering the valve body cavity.

2. When the valve ball is in the closed state, there is still some residual medium in the valve body, which is also subjected to a certain pressure. Before repairing the ball valve, it is necessary to close the shut-off valve in front of the ball valve, open the ball valve that needs to be repaired, and completely release the pressure inside the valve body. If it is an electric ball valve or a pneumatic ball valve, the power and gas sources should be disconnected first.

3. Generally, PTFE is used as the sealing material for soft sealed valve spheres, while the sealing surface of hard sealed valve spheres is made of metal overlay welding. If it is necessary to clean the valve ball of the pipeline, caution should be taken during disassembly to prevent damage to the sealing ring and leakage.

4. When disassembling and assembling the flange valve ball, the bolts and nuts on the flange should be fixed first, then all nuts should be slightly tightened, and finally fixed firmly with force. If individual nuts are forcibly fixed first, and then other nuts are fixed, uneven distribution between the flange surfaces may cause damage or rupture of the gasket surface, resulting in medium leakage when the valve ball flange is connected.

5. If cleaning the valve ball, the solvent used must not conflict with the parts to be cleaned and must not corrode. If it is a gas specific valve ball, it can be cleaned with gasoline. Other components can generally be cleaned with water. When cleaning, it is necessary to thoroughly clean any residual dust, oil stains, and other attachments. If it cannot be cleaned with clean water, targeted cleaning agents such as alcohol can be used without damaging the valve body and components. After cleaning, wait for the cleaning agent to completely evaporate before assembling.

6. If slight leakage is found at the packing during use, the valve stem nut can be tightened slightly until the leakage stops, and cannot be further tightened.

7. Long term outdoor storage can cause rusting of the valve ball body and components, making it unable to function properly. When storing the valve ball, it should be protected from rain, water, and moisture, and the flange cover should be tightly closed. Valve spheres stored for more than 12 months should be retested during use to ensure stable performance.
